Sometimes, all it takes is a fresh set of eyes to help you see what’s missing and move your strategy in the right direction.
I am excited to announce that I am trialling something a bit new for me.
Introducing – The Puzzle Hour!
Let’s backtrack before I dive into it.
As far back as when I was in elementary school, I was petrified to ask questions. I can’t begin to explain the fear that would consume me anytime I even thought about raising my hand in class. So much so, that I developed my reputation as a quiet, shy kid.
And I held onto that perception of me for a very long time.
It wasn’t until I got into post-secondary education that I started seeing that maybe this fear was a bit irrational.
I thought previously thought that by asking questions, I would be seen as dumb. So, I didn’t.
That, as I’ve come to learn, was a mistake.
See, what I had come to learn (the hard way, unfortunately) was that not asking questions would essentially lead me to messing up a lot more than I needed to. It would prevent me from learning, growing or even accomplishing what needed to get done in some cases.
So, over time (this still took a few tries), I started asking questions.
It’s not that the fear of not wanting to look dumb went away overnight, but I started asking questions simply as a way to show I was curious. No one hates curiosity.
That’s why I am creating The Puzzle Hour; I want to create a space where people can get curious about youth engagement. Where they can ask all their questions and not feel dumb for asking them.
What is The Puzzle Hour?
The Puzzle Hour is an opportunity for your organization to ask me any questions you may have about youth engagement. Whether you’re starting from scratch, trying to change how you approach youth engagement, or just need a space to work on your youth engagement ideas, this one-hour session is to help you do exactly that.
During your session, you can ask things like:
“Where do we even start with youth engagement?”
“How can we increase participation in our programs?”
“Why aren’t youth responding to our outreach?”
“What roles should youth play in decision-making?”
“How do we integrate youth into our decision-making process?”
“How do we reach youth without feeling performative or out of touch?”
No question is too big or too small.
For this one hour, I am here to answer all questions or discuss your youth engagement approach.
If I don’t know the answer, I will make it a priority to do my research and provide you with a solution that can help.

What you’ll walk away with:
Honest, expert insights on your specific challenge(s)
A clearer picture of what’s really missing in your youth engagement strategy
An invitation to explore how we could work together—no pressure at all and only if relevant!
